For the Researcher

Here at USU, we advance research and technologies that ensure the uncompromised performance of our troops, on and off the field. We invite fellow researchers to participate and collaborate in our ongoing mission to optimize human performance of our warriors. Located on the Naval Support Activity Bethesda campus, we conduct interdisciplinary research using state-of-the-art facilities with a particular focus on the physiological challenges that pose a significant threat to our forces. Our laboratories are fully equipped to study thermal stress, exercise stress and adaptations, and the genetics associated with performance. Areas of research focus include:

  • Exertional rhabdomyolysis and heat injuries
  • Dietary Supplements
  • Ethnicity and Health Disparities
  • Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention
  • Spiritual Performance
  • Nutrition Environment
