Internship

About

The CHAMP Internship Program is available to undergraduate, graduate-level students, and Active Duty Military Service Members in transition to civilian careers interested in developing holistic skillsets, gaining relevant experiences, and advancing in their career paths related to Human Performance Optimization (HPO) and Total Force Fitness (TFF).

CHAMP offers a 6-month internship over the Summer and Fall. Students have the option of completing the internship in 2 formats:

  • Full time over the Summer and part time over the Fall
  • Part time over the Summer and Fall

Students fulfilling a capstone project may contact our program throughout the year for longer internship durations and specific focuses.

Skills learned at CHAMP will be supplemental to what students are able to learn in the classroom, such as laboratory research, customer/client interaction, business/academic/scientific writing, etc. An internship with CHAMP may provide students with experiential learning, the opportunity to further develop and strengthen their resume and professional capabilities, and make them more competitive for future employability.

Each intern will have a dedicated mentor to supervise their tasks, opportunities to attend professional workshops, and a culminating project or presentation. For the 2024 internship cycle, we plan to offer a mix of virtual and in-person opportunities, depending on the project requirements.

Process

Internships are awarded based on competitive merit. Applicants will be reviewed on completeness of application, a minimum 2.0 GPA, scholastic and extracurricular achievement, recommendation from an instructor or employer who is familiar with the student, and quality of essay. Selected applicants will be invited to a telephone interview for determining compatibility with our program. Selected interns will be notified via email after their interview of their acceptance into the program.
